RDSOLUTIOU NQ.
WHEREAS, on August 22, 1974, DR. FUJIO MATSUDA, Vice President
of Academic Affairs, was officially appointed by the Board of
Regents to become the ninth President of the University of Hawaii
effective September 1, 1974; and
WHEREAS, PRESIDENT FUJIO MATSUDA, a local product of the
islands, brings to his new position a record of proven abilities
and accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, the people of Hawaii may rest assured that a
responsible and dedicated 'Individual has assumed the administration
at the University of Hawaii and
WHEREAS, , the appointment of PRESIDENT FUJIO MA.TSUDA, who
has also served as State Director of Transportation and 'trustee
to the University of Hawaii Foundation, reflects the concern of
