HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 296 Draft 01 1972-1976County of Hawaii --State of Hawaii Resolution WHEREAS, the General Revenue Sharing Act (Public Law 92-512) will expire in 1976; and WHEREAS, the General Revenue Sharing Act provides the State and County of Hawaii with much needed funds in areas such as public safety facilities, public transportation, health, recreation, libraries and social services for the poor or aged; and WHEREAS, the continuation of the General Revenue Sharing Act is a necessity for a further uniform growth of the State and County of Hawaii, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Hawaii congressional delegation to Congress give immediate consideration to supporting the continuation of the General Revenue Sharing Act. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is hereby directed to forward copies of this resolution to the Honorable George Ariyoshi, Acting Governor of the State of Hawaii; to the Honorable Bruce McCall, Mayor of the County of Hawaii; to the Honorable Daniel K. Inouye, U. S. Senator; to the Honorable Hiram L. Fong, U. S. Senator; to the Honorable Patsy T. Mink, U. S. Representative; and to the Honorable Spark M. Matsunaga, U. S. Representative. Dated at Hilo, Hawaii, this 7th day of November, 1974.
