HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 298 Draft 01 1972-1976RESOLUTION NO* 0 WHEREAS, on November 2, 19741 the Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Association held its successful first annual "Entertainment Bonanza;" and WHEREAS, some three thousand big islanders thoroughly enJoyed the bonanza of songs which filled the Hilo Civic Auditorium; and WkIEREAS , first-rate Honolulu entertainers and music groups sand and frolicked for seven straight hours; and WHEREAS, these entertainers unselfishly gave of their time and talent to raise necessary funds for our Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Association; and WHERLAS, Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines provided the transportation; and WHLRLAS , the Naniloa Surf Hotel provided the necessary lodging facilities; and ERBAS, the people of the Big Island wish to extend to the following entertainers and organizations their fondest mahalo for making the first annual "Entertainment Bonanza" an enjoyable success: Inny Young, Barry Rim, Hill Kaiwa, Tunny Kaleikini, Jeff Apaka, Jimmy Borges, The Laughing Kahunas, Melveen Leed, Nephi Hannemann, Rod Young, The Surfers, Tina Troy, The Young Hawaiians, Naniloa Surf Hotel, Aloha Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines, t T'` ......... ----- ------------- --... _ J. ...., ( f -, OW,r THEREFORE# BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes this weans to express its appreciation to the entertainers and organizations hereinabove mentioned for their unselfish kokua in raising funds for the Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Association. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of this resolution to the following entertainers and organizations luny Young, Barry Kim, Bill KaiwaE, Danny Kaleikini , Jeff Apaka, Jay Borges, The Laughing Kahunas, Melveen Leed, Nephi Rannemann, Rod Young, The Surfers, Tina Troy, The Young Hawaiians, Naniloa Surf Hotel, Aloha Airlines, and Hawaiian Airlines, and to extend to them the County's warmest "aloha."
