RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Association,
with the help of RICHARD BOONE, has completed its thirteen -
minute film entitled.. "Operation Orchid"; and
WHEREAS,, the salient purpose for HIVIA's film is to
promote and build the Big Island's tourism by exposing the
beauties of our island to millions of viewers,-, and
WHEREAS, it took one month of uninterrupted time to
shoot the film; and
WHEREAS, RICHARD BOONE,, who also loves our Big Island,,
had freely donated his talents, efforts, and time to promote
the film for HIVIA; and
WHEREAS, RICHARD BOONE appeared in the film,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes this means to express its
Mahalo and appreciation to RICHARD BOONE for kindly donating
his talents and efforts on his own free time to promote
"Operation Orchid" for the Hawaii Island Visitor Industry
Association (HIVIA).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit a true copy of
this resolution to RICHARD BOONE and to extend to him the
County's warmest "aloha,"
Dated at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, this 4th day of
December, 1974.
