WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Association,
with the help of JOHN MICHAEL HAY S, has completed its
thirteen -minute film entitled, "Operation Orchid",- and
AREAS, the salient purpose for HIVIA' s film is to
promote and build the Rig Island's tourism by exposing the
beauties of our island to millions of viewers; and
WHEREASj, it tock one month of uninterrupted time to
shoot the film; and
WHEREAS, JOHN MICHAEL HAYRS, who also loves our Big
Island, had freely donated his talents, efforts, and time
to promote the film for HIVIA; and
WHEREAS, JOHN MICHAEL HAYES also co-authored the film's
script,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes this means to express its
ahalo and appreciation to JOHN MICHAEL HAYES for kindly
donating his talents and efforts on his own free time to
promote "Operations Orchid" for the Hawaii. Island Visitor
Industry dissociation (HIVIA) .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit a true copy of
this resolution to JOHN MICHAEL HAYES and to extend to hien
the County's warmest "aloha."
Dated at Kailua-Rona, Hawaii, this 4th day of
December, 1974.
