WHEREAS, the Hawaii Islam Visitor industry Association,
with the help of MARTIN RACKIN, has completed its thirteen -
minute film entitled, "Operation Orchid"; and
WHEREAS, the salient purpose for HIVIA' s film is to
promote and build the Big Island's tourism by exposing the
beauties of our island to millions of viewers; and
WHEREAS,, it took one month of uninterrupted time to
shoat the film; and
WHEREAS, MARTIN RACKIN, who also loves our Big Island,
had freely donated his talents, efforts, and time to promote
the film for HIVIA; and
WHEREAS, MARTIN RACKIN envisioned the story's theme ; and
WHEREAS, MARTIN RACRIN co --authored the film's script; and
WHEREAS, MARTIN RACKIN arranged to have renowned
celebrities appear in the film,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it takes this means to express its mahalo
and .appreciation to MARTIN RACKIN for kindly donating his
talents and efforts on his own; free time to promote "Operation
Orchid" for the: Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Association
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clark of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit a true copy of
this resolution to MARTIN RACKIN and to extend to him the
County's warmest "aloha."
