RESOLUTION NO*
WHEREAS, seventy-two citizens of this community are
active members of Company B,, 100th Battalion,, 442d Infantry
of the U. S, Army Reserve; and
Wi1ZRk;AS.. the members of Company B,, 100th Battalion,
442d Infantry, have provided for the common defense and
have brought great honor to themselves and the people of
Hawaii through their acts of courage in World War II and
the Korean and Vietnam conflicts; and
ML21REASI these citizen -soldiers have promoted the general
welfare by participating in community service projects aimed
at making Hawaii a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS., the citizen -soldiers of the Ain:ay Reserve have
now chosen to undertake "OPERATION GO FOR BROKE" in an effort
to recruit new menw'ers into this distinguished unit and to
promote public awareness of the famed unit's role in the Army
Reserve and the cormuunity,
WhEREAS, the Mayor of the County of Hawaii has proclaimed
the month of December,, 1974,, as "GO FOR BROKE MONTH" in honor
of Company B, 100th Battalion, 442d Infantry,
NOW, THERE -FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THL
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the members of Corpany B, 100th Battalion,
442dInfantry , be commended and congratulated for their long
and meritorious service to the people of Hawaii and to our
country; and
BE IT FURTHER IUSOLVED that the civilian community
pledges its full support towards "OPERA IOIN GO FOR BROKE"; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be ordered to transmit true copies of this resolution
to Lieutenant Colonel Frederick A. Bolck , Commanding Office,
100th Battalion, 442d Infantry, and to Captain Rodsney S.
Nishimura, Coionanding Officer, Company B, 100th Battalion,
4424 Infantry.
