Re: Resolution Accepting Donation
Enclosed is a resolution accepting a monetary donation of$1,000 from The Petco
Foundation. This money will be given to the Hawai`i Fire Department to support its
canine program.

Please prepare a resolution to accept a donation in the amount of $1,000.00 from The Petco
Foundation.
Please send a letter of appreciation and a copy of the resolution VIA EMAIL ONLY to:

Per Petco: "The Petco Foundation desires that all funds and efforts be prioritized for lifesaving and seeks to
reduce our environmental footprint. Therefore, we respectfully request that no items are mailed to the Petco

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The funds will be used in support of the Fire Department's Canine Program in its Fire Prevention
Bureau to help defray training and travel costs.

RE: Resolution No. 34-19 : RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $1,000 TO THE HAWAII FIRE
DEPARTMENT
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
