Dear Council,
One more voice...we are entirely cut off from our property by the lava flow; we have five
acres, luckily, not covered.
We were supplying local avocados which need to be replanted.Not sure what the outlook may
be. Last trip in,they mostly looked dead. Sulfuric acid has done a lot of damage. Fires took
our ohana and garages. We cannot begin to repair/rebuild without a road that will support
heavy equipment but would be grateful just to get home again. Our home had squatters and
looters; I hope they have not returned. We need our presence there. This constant feeling of
vulnerability is difficult.
We are trying to get our new animal clinic open in Pahoa. Hope we can go home again soon;
that would be such a great relief. So many things to focus upon to bring back Puna, strong and
vibrant. Please help us. Please help our neighbors, who have been incredible. Thank you.
