Aloha!
Please vote no on Bill 1 - no council approval of status update or an
extension of 20 years to the Kapulehu project.
The proposal has not been looked at by the State Historic Preservation
Division as of yet - and that step is a crucial part of good planning.
Where are all of the workers for these 1,039 housing units going to
live? Have you seen how hard it is to rent a place on the Kona side - it's
nearly impossible.
These developments are not affordable for average residents.
There is also a huge problem with traffic on the Kona Coast, the roads
and highways are constantly clogged to a standstill right now... and we
want to add several thousand more cars going to 1,000 high end housing
units, not to mention, an 11 acre commercial area?
Our infrastructure is whoafully inadequate to handle such a big
development.
