Your Committee on Public Safety, to which was referred Communication No. 39, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 39, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 19, 2018, nominates
Paula Thomas to the Liquor Commission.
Paula Thomas stated a few words expressing her anticipation and commitment to serve on the
Liquor Commission. She has served the community in various aspects and wanted to try a new
experience in serving the community by applying for the Liquor Commission. She is very
pleased that she is being nominated.
Council Members spoke in support of Ms. Thomas' nomination. Chair Villegas stated that
Ms. Thomas is not required to appear before the Council for the final approval.
The Committee on Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 39, and recommends confirmation of the nomination of Paula Thomas to the Liquor
Commission.
