Your Committee on Public Safety, to which was referred Communication No. 40, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 40, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 19, 2018, nominates
Arthur K. Taniguchi to the Liquor Control Adjudication Board.
Mr. Taniguchi stated he has served on three other commissions in the past and is excited and
committed to serve again on this board. He further stated that he takes the role seriously and is
committed to give 100 percent.
Council Members expressed their appreciation to Mr. Taniguchi for stepping up and wishing to
serve on the Liquor Control Adjudication Board and are thankful for his continued involvement
with the County boards and commissions. Chair Villegas stated that Mr. Taniguchi is not
required to appear before the Council for final approval.
The Committee on Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 40, and recommends confirmation of the nomination of Arthur T. Taniguchi to the Liquor
Control Adjudication Board.
