Your Committee on Public Safety, to which was referred Communication No. 41, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 41, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 19, 2018, nominates
Jude Mattos to the Police Commission.
Mr. Jude Mattos stated a few words expressing his thankfulness and is looking forward to
serving. He hopes to bring new ideas, possible changes and will give his best to the commission.
Council Member Poindexter expressed her support of Mr. Mattos' nomination. Chair Rebecca
Villegas stated that Mr. Mattos is not required to appear before the Council for the final
approval.
The Committee on Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 41, and recommends confirmation of the nomination of Jude Mattos to the Police
Commission.
