Your Committee on Public Safety, to which was referred Communication No. 42, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 42, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated December 19, 2018, nominates
Ronald Ibarra to the Liquor Commission.
Mr. Ibarra stated a few words expressing his willingness to serve on this commission and thanks
Mayor Harry Kim for the nomination. Mr. Ibarra stated that before he was a judge he was active
in the community and county. He was previously involved with the County as its Corporation
Counsel, Managing Director, and at the Prosecutor's Office. He enjoys working with people and
is happy to participate with communities again.
Council Members expressed their thanks, appreciation, and strong support of Mr. Ibarra's
nomination. Chair Villegas stated that Mr. Ibarra is not required to appear before the Council for
final approval.
The Committee on Public Safety is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 42, and recommends confirmation of the nomination of Mr. Ronald Ibarra to the Liquor
Commission.
