APPOINTMENT OF ROBERT K. YANABU as CHIEF
ENGINEER of the COUNTY OF HAWAII
I am requesting your consideration in support of the subject confirmation.
During my tenure as the Chief Engineer of Hawaii County, I had the
opportunity to work with Robert Yanabu, while he was the Engineering
Division Chief. It was during this time that the Division was reorganized from
the Bureau of Engineering and Surveys to the current Engineering Division.
As the Engineering Division Chief, Mr. Yanabu was extremely supportive of
the administration's direction, and provided valuable technical engineering
advice to me as the administrator. His advice and decisions were always given
with the utmost concern for the safety, health, and welfare of our citizens.
He also worked tirelessly to complete work assignments and achieve the
division objectives.
In closing, I again request your support and am sure that Mr. Yanabu will be
an excellent Chief Engineer.
