Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
The Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to lease real property at 929 Ululani
Street in Hilo for the Pomaikai Senior Center. This location will be used to provide the
community with various activities such as congregate dining, classes, meetings and more.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to enter into a three-year, multi-year lease
agreement with two renewal extensions of one year, with the Hawai`i Public Housing
Authority for the location described above. The anticipated rent shall be $125 per month.

A. REQUEST:
Approval to enter a multi-year lease of real property from the Hawaii Public Housing Authority for the
Pomaikai Senior Center, 929 Ululani St, Hilo, HI 96720. Tax Map Key 2-4-25:92
Lease terms will be for 3yrs with 2 renewal extensions of 1 yr. $125 per month, per site shall be paid for
shared utility costs. -
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Department of Parks and Recreation is currently utilizing the location as the nutrition site to provide
meals for the elderly. The Hawaii Public Housing Authority has agreed to enter into a 3 yr lease agreement
to allow the nutrition program to continue operations in the upcoming years.
