VI OF 4 <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII +��`" �•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 50 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME <br /> HAWAII TO SUPPORT ITS IN-REACH AND REINTEGRATION PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose <br /> is to reintegrate former offenders into the community and the workplace; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i works in collaboration with more than 50 public and <br /> private entities to provide a variety of support services to former offenders, including housing, <br /> case management, and referrals to mental health and/or substance abuse treatment programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i's In-Reach and Reintegration program provides <br /> services for male or female offenders who are charged or convicted with nonviolent offenses, <br /> suffer from mental illness, and are incarcerated or at-risk of incarceration at the Hawai`i <br /> Community Correctional Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is requesting funds to assist with housing subsidies <br /> for its In-reach and Reintegration program; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to support <br /> programs that improve the criminal justice system by identifying areas of need and working <br /> collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and the community by employing early <br /> intervention initiatives to improve the quality of life on Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i to support its In-reach and <br /> Reintegration program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
