RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII, HAWAII
PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY, AND AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT FOR A
MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT FOR THE USE OF THE KEA`AU NUTRITION CENTER —
HALE ALOHA O PUNA LOCATED AT 16-189 PILI MUA STREET, KEA`AU,
HAWAII 96749, TAX MAP KEY NO. 1-6-143:35.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii, Hawaii Public Housing Authority is the owner of the
Kea`au Nutrition Center — Hale Aloha O Puna, 16-189 Pili Mua Street, Kea`au, Hawaii 96749,
Tax Map Key No. 1=6-143:35; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii, Department of Parks and Recreation desires to enter
into an agreement for a multi-year period to use this facility for various activities for the
neighborhood community such as: congregate dining, information and assistance, classes and
workshops, and meetings and assessments; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 46-7 this Council's consent is
required to enter into this intergovernmental agreement for use of this State facility; and
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year
or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the
Mayor, pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 46-7 and Section 10-11 of the Hawaii
County Charter, is hereby authorized to enter into the multi-year Facility Lease Agreement
between the State of Hawai`i, Hawai`i Public Housing Authority and the County of Hawai`i.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to the State of Hawai`i, Hawai`i Public Housing Authority.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to:
(1) Mayor Harry Kim; (2) the Department of Parks and Recreation; (3) the Department of
Finance, Property Management division; (4) State of Hawai`i, Hawai`i Public Housing
Authority, 1002 North School Street, Honolulu, Hawai`i 96817, and (5) J Yoshimoto, Deputy
Corporation Counsel, Office of the Corporation Counsel.
