SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Bill No. 12 Relating to Lava Disaster Relief
in Lower
Puna
Please see below proposed amendments to Bill No. 12. This amendment adds new sections to
identify certain allowable expenditures for the 2018 Lava Disaster Relief - Private account.
The proposed amendments are illustrated below in Ramseyer format with respect to the
contents of Bill No. 12; material to be added is underscored.
1. A new section is inserted into Bill No. 12 as SECTION 3 to read as follows:
"SECTION 3. Attached hereto and incorporated by reference is Exhibit A identifying. a
list of projects to be funded. Any funds not identified by Exhibit A shall be expended on
projects that further assist with the 2018 lava disaster relief."
2. A new section is inserted into Bill No 12 as SECTION 4 to read as follows:
"SECTION 4. Any funds remaining from projects identified in Exhibit A shall be
returned to the 2018 Lava Disaster Relief - Private account."
3. The current SECTION 3 is -renamed to SECTION 5.
4. Exhibit A is attached to Bill No. 12 listing various projects to be funded.
A draft copy of the draft 2 of this bill that would result if these proposed amendments are
adopted is attached.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 18-689 AS AMENDED, THE
OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING .TUNE 309 2019.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 18-68, as amended, is hereby further amended by
appropriating revenues in the following amount(s) to the fund(s) as set forth in Section 2.

SECTION 2. The foregoing amount(s) as specified in Section 1 hereof is/are hereby

SECTION 3. Attached hereto and incorporated by reference is Exhibit A identifying a list of

the 2018 Lava Disaster Relief - Private account.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
