RESOLUTION NO. 60 19
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT
AWARD OF $20,000 FROM THE CITIES FOR FINANCIAL
EMPOWERMENT FUND TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
PLAN TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A
FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT CENTER
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii has been selected to receive a $20,000
grant award from the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to develop a plan to determine the
feasibility of establishing a Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) based on the
FEC model on Hawaii Island; and
WHEREAS, the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) model provides
free, professional one-on-one financial counseling/coaching to residents; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development shall oversee
the implementation of this project and recommends the acceptance of this grant
award; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this grant award.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Hawaii shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the
Finance Department, and to the Department of Research and Development.
