Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Fred T. Yamashiro of Kamuela to the Hawaii
County Tax Board of Review to replace Ma'ulili W.G. Dickson of Kamuela, who
has resigned due to a conflict with his work schedule.
Mr. Yamashiro is a lifetime resident of Hawaii, and since 1996 has been a
developer with the Menehune Development Company. Prior to that, he was the
vice-president with Nansay Hawaii (1990-1996). He is active in community
affairs, having membership with the YMCA, the Catholic Charities Board, the
Brantley Center and the Hawaii Island United Way. He states that he has no
political party affiliation.
If approved, Mr. Yamashiro will serve the balance of the unexpired term, which
will end December 31, 2003.
