The Hawaii County Council Committee On Public Works and Mass Transit c4
will be voting on Resolution 37-19. next Monday Feb 4th. This legislation will w
accept the dedication of Manawalea Street Extension Phase 1 to Hawaii
County. "`

The developer, and the County, are working to finalize Phase 2, so its --
ready to be dedicated to the county at a later date. As soon as that
happens, this new roadway will help with traffic circulation in this
area of Kailua-Kona, specifically Keanalehu Drive. N —~
On behalf of the Villages of Laiopua Association, we urge you and the Hawaii County
Council to accept the dedication of this segment of roadway. As you are aware, Keanalehu
Drive is a major Mauka-Makai connection and, thus,the traffic on Keanalehu Dr. is affecting

the safety of our keikis by the lack of additional Mauka-Makai connector roads.
Again we urge the County Council to pass the Resolution 39-19 that will eventually lead to the
opening of Manawalea and add another Mauka-Makai connection for our residents of West
Hawaii.
