"TIM" RICHARDS, III <br />REBECCA VILLEGAS <br />Pursuant to §46-16.8(c), Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Hawaii County <br />Council will be holding a Public Hearing regarding Bill 19, which amends Chapter 2, Article 45 of the <br />Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) relating to the General Excise and Use Tax <br />Surcharge. Bill 19 increases the General Excise and Use Tax Surcharge from one-quarter percent <br />(0.25%) to one-half percent (0.5%), with the increase to be applied beginning January 1, 2020, and also <br />amends the automatic date of repeal from December 31, 2020, to December 31, 2030. <br />Date: February 19, 2019 <br />Time: 5:30 p.m. <br />Place: West Hawaii Civic Center <br />74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building A <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />All persons desiring to express their views on the above matter may do so orally at the hearing and <br />must register with the County Clerk's staff at the hearing. Those submitting written testimony at the <br />hearing should bring 14 copies for distribution.
