Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 78, reports as follows:
Communication No. 78, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 16, 2019,nominates
Judy Greenbaum, of District 9, to the Salary Commission.
Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Judy Greenbaum.
Ms. Greenbaum obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the American
Intercontinental University. She worked in mid-level management at the Westin Ilikai as a loan
officer with Norwest Financial and is an owner of a Subway franchise. Ms. Greenbaum was
also the previous treasurer on the Hawai`i Preparatory Academy Ohana Board. If confirmed, she
will serve to fill a term expiring December 31,, 2019.
Chair David stated that Ms. Greenbaum does not need to appear at the next Council meeting for
confirmation of her appointment.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-28, Hawaii County Charter, there is established a Salary
Commission, which shall consist of nine members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the
Council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 78,
and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Judy Greenbaum to the Hawai`i County
Salary Commission.
