w �� Of <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />tOi N►' <br />RESOLUTION NO. 81 i9 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE COOPER <br />CENTER COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH ITS FRIENDS FEEDING FRIENDS <br />PROGRAM DINNER EVENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br />mission is to bring the community of Volcano, Hawaii and surrounding area into a cohesive <br />group through shared activities and projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council serves various communities in Volcano Village <br />and the surrounding area by providing a venue for meetings, community events, a weekly <br />farmers' market, monthly feedings, and the Volunteer Fire Station 19 -Alpha; and <br />WHEREAS, Friends Feeding Friends program will host a special dinner on March 28, <br />2019 at the Cooper Center for Federal workers and families from Hawaii Volcanoes National <br />Park that have been affected by the government shutdown; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council is requesting funding assistance to purchase <br />miscellaneous supplies and groceries for its Friends Feeding Friends program dinner event; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports programs and groups that <br />provide services and opportunities that meet the needs of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Cooper Center Council to assist with its Friends <br />Feeding Friends program dinner event. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
