Funds will be used by the Hawai`i County Police Department for the purpose of reducing drug threats and drug-related crimes, and to incorporate multi-agency collaboration. Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement with the State'of Hawai`i Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division to accept these funds. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $41,613 grant. . The Police request that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the March 13, 2019 Council agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
