WHEREAS, after 35 years of loyal and dedicated government
service with the State Department of Social Services,
MRS. FUMIKO IWAMASA, Hawaii Branch Administrator, retired
on December 30, 1974, concluding a long and admirable career
marked by numerous outstanding accomplishments; and
thirinq her tenure at this administrative post,
she received recognition from the National Who' s Who Journal
and also took active roles in such organizations as the
Hawaii Island United Fund, American Cancer Society, Committee
on Children and Youth, Child Abuse Committee, Commission on
Drug Addiction, Salvation Army, Zonta and Mental Health
Association; and
WHEREAS, under her guidance as the Chief Administrator
for the Department of Social Services on the island of Hawaii,
human services assistance was efficiently and ably provided
to individuals needing aid; and
WHEREAS, the people of the County and State of Hawaii
are extremely grateful to have had the services of such a
dedicated and admired public servant in MRS. FUMIKO IWAMASA;
and
WHEREAS, with the retirement of MRS. FUMIKO IWAMASA,
her fellow workers, many friends and other government officials
and personnel who have had the privilege of associating with
her will sorely miss her experience, knowledge and administra-
tive expertise, 7/
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it extends to MRS. FUMIKO IWAMASA
its heartfelt "mahalo" for her dedicated service to the
people of the County of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
is hereby directed to forward a true copy of this resolution
to MRS. FUMIKO IWAMASA as evidence of the gratitude of the
people of the County of Hawaii,who in this humble manner
express their lasting admiration, respect, friendship and
best wishes for a yet productive and satisfying life of
retirement.
