WHEREAS, GRANT YA AMOTO, a senior at Honokaa High
School, based on season-long performances, was selected as the
outstanding offensive player for the 1974 BIIF Football
Season; and
WHEREAS, GRANT YAMAMOTO, who had the distinction of
being the only player to receive a first place vote on every
ballot, was highly instrumental to Honokaa's season-long success,
which culminated in the Honokaa Dragons' repeated BIIF
championship; and
WHEREAS, GRANT YAMAMOTO, whose crisp blocking as an
offensive guard, often cracked open gaping holes for the fleet
Dragon backs to scamper through; and
WHEREAS, GRANT YAMAMOTO has the distinction of being
named by a distinguished panel of well-known Big Island
sportsmen as "Top Athlete in Football for 1974" ,
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF Thin
COUNTY OF HAWAII that it does hereby congratulate GRANT YAMAMOTO
for being named "Top Athlete in Football for 1974" and wish
him greater success in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be instructed
to forward a true copy of this resolution to GRANT YAMAMOTO.
