Resolution
WHEREAS, littering on public properties in the County of Hawaii
has become a very serious problem; and
WHEREAS, littering is detrimental to our health and safety and
our economic well-being; and
WHEREAS , it behooves our government to take positive action to
combat the problem.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it immediately calls upon all the resources of the County
to enforce all existing laws against littering and that the Council
urge the State Legislature to enact new legislation to cover more
completely the problems created by littering.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereby directed to transmit true copies of this resolution
to the Honorable Herbert T. Matayoshi, Mayor of the County of Hawaii,
and to the State Senators and Representatives from the island of
Hawaii.
