COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT AHU`ENA HEIAU INC. TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO COMMEMORATING THE 200 -YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE PASSING OF KING KAMEHAMEHA I. WHEREAS, Ahu`ena Heiau Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to create and operate programs for the preservation and maintenance of ancient Hawaiian structures and foundations and to promote the appreciation of Hawaiian history; and WHEREAS, Ahu`ena Heiau Inc. is coordinating events to commemorate the 200 -year anniversary of the passing of King Kamehameha I, which will occur on May 8 and 11, 2019, at the Ahu`ena Heiau located at Kamakahonu Beach; and WHEREAS, Ahu`ena Heiau Inc. is requesting financial assistance for expenses related to the events, which include police protection, road closure notices, advertising, and sound system fees; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports programs that provide educational activities and community events in a drug-free and alcohol -free environment, such as the 200 -year anniversary events scheduled in May; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Ahu`ena Heiau Inc. to assist with expenses related to commemorating the 200 -year anniversary of the passing of King Kamehameha I. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
