Resolut on No. 376
NAMING OF STREETS IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII , STATE OF HAWAII .
WHEREAS , the Planning Commission at its regular meeting of
December 19 , 1974 , approved the following redefinition of street
names for certain roadways previously adopted by Resolution
No. 246 in the County of Hawaii , State of Hawaii :
Machado Acres Subdivision, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii
Ka Manelo Place - meaning "he who is not rough, as in
an undisturbed sea" ; for Manuel Machado ,
whaler who landed at Pohoiki
Keone Street - transliteration of the name John; for
the son and grandson of Manuel and
Leotina Machado
Leoiki Place - meaning "small voice" ; for Leotina
Machado, wife of Manuel Machado
Leomele Place - meaning "voice of song" ; for Leotina,
daughter of Manuel and Leotina Machado
Linaka Street - transliteration of the name Linda; for
the daughter and granddaughter of Manuel
and Leotina Machado
Palakiko Street - transliteration of the name Frank; for
the son of Manuel and Leotina Machado
Uilama Place - transliteration of the name William; for
the son of Manuel and Leotina Machado
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the said roadways located in the County of Hawaii ,
State of Hawaii, be redefined as follows :
Machado Acres Subdivision, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii
Ka Manelo Place - meaning "he who is not rough, as in
an undisturbed sea" ; for Manuel Machado,
whaler who landed at Pohoiki
Keone Street - transliteration of the name John; for
the son and grandson of Manuel and
Leotina Machado

Resolution No. 246 is hereby repealed.
