WHEREAS , seven Rig Island students captured topsnots
in the 1175 Hawaii State YMCA Youth Legislature elections
held in Honolulu recently; and
WUPPFAS , '4iss Cynthia Farias , a senior at. Pilo high School,
was the second woran in the past 26 years to be elected. Governor;
and
WHEREAS , "iss Peggy Radooka, a senior at Pilo High School ,
was elected Senate President; and
WHEREAS , TMiss Flisa Yadao, a senior at Lilo High School ,
was elected House Sneaker; and
WHEREAS, Yr. Yoshikazu Tliiba, a senior at Hilo High
School, was elected Senate Attorney and
WHEREAS, Yr. Peter Matsuura, a junior at Eno High School ,
was elected House Attorney? and
WHrPPAS , Pir. Grant Kojima, a junior at ITU° High School ,
vas elected Senate Clerk; and
V,LLFEAS, ir. Guy Imoto, a senior at Hilo High School ,
was elected House Sergeant-at-Arms and
WHEREAS, like their State counterparts , the Youth
Legislators critically analyzed numerous bills and resolutions
which they drafted ,
NOW, TnErrropr , BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the County
of Hawaii that it takes this rt,nans to conaratulate the above-
mentioned individuals and all Youth Legislators throughout the
State of Hawaii for a job well done.
BL IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii is hereby directed to transmit true copies of this
Resolution to TAiss Cynthia Farias Miss Peggy Hadooka; Miss Elisa
Yadao; Mr. Yoshikazn Shiiba; Mr. Peter Matsuura; Mr. Grant
Kojima; mr. Guy Imoto° Mr. Richard liatsunaga, Hilo High School
Principal - and the YMCA.
