Resolution
WHEREAS, we, the people of the County of Hawaii, are
fortunate to have many naturally beautiful parks and
recreational sites which we can enjoy year round; and
WHEREAS, the beauty of our parks and recreational sites
is often marred by the occurrence of unexpected accidents
and emergencies which inevitably arise when least expected; and
WHEREAS, emergencies may take their toll in the form of
a fire, drowning, death, rape incidents , and other injuries;
and
WHEREAS, at the onset of an emergency the need for the
fastest means of communication arises and can be best met with
the installation of a public or emergency telephone; and
WHEREAS, before the emergency occurs , it is best to be
prepared for the unexpected by providing a public or emergency
telephone; and
WHEREAS , there are no public or emergency telephones at
Kaimu, Harry K. Brown Park, Kumukahi Point, and Honolulu
Landing,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY. THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII , that it goes on record as urging Hawaiian
Telephone Company to install a public telephone or at least
an emergency telephone at Kaimu, Harry K. Brown Park, Kumukahi
Point, and Honolulu Landing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and
is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to
Hawaiian Telephone Company.
