RESOLUTION NO. t--,
WHEREAS , MR. WAICHI OKANO, who is 97 years old and
a resident of Keauhou, Kona, has been recognized for his
many years of unselfish and outstanding community service;
and
WHEREAS, since his arrival in Kona from Yamaguchi
Ken, Japan in 1907 , MR. WAICHI OKANO has led a fruitfully
long life of service in the country of his adoption ; and
WHEREAS, MR. WAICHI OKANO has been awarded the Order of
the Sacred Treasurer, Sixth Class, by the Japanese Government ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that its sincere congratulations be extended
to MR. WAICHI OKANO and his entire family on this happy
occasion in which he received the Order of the Sacred Treasurer,
Sixth Class Award.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of
Hawaii be and is hereby directed to transmit a true copy of
this resolution to MR. WAICHI OKANO, and to extend to him
the County' s sincere congratulations .
