Resolution No. 391
WHEREAS , the Big Island Interscholastic Federation Baseball League
of 1975 officially ended with the Dragons of Honokaa High School cap-
turing the championship ; and
WHEREAS , sporting an impressive 12-2 record for the season, the
Dragons of Honokaa has made it three in a row, having also won the
baseball titles in 1973 and 1974; and
WHEREAS, like true champions the members of the Dragon baseball
team displayed fine examples of sportsmanship and teamwork; and
WHEREAS , as champions this year of both BIIF football and baseball,
the students and faculty of Honokaa High and Elementary School can be
proud of their accomplishments in the highly esteemed BIIF Athletic
Conference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that this body takes this means to congratulate the Dragons
of Honokaa High School for having won the 1975 BIIF Baseball Champion-
ship, and that special tribute be given to Mr. Edward Forsythe, Principal
of Honokaa High and Elementary School; to Dragon baseball coach John K.
Kai; and to Assistant Coach Clyde "Brocky" Joaquin for encouraging and
assisting young , talented athletes to actively participate in BIIF sports .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk be and is hereby directed to
forward a true copy of this resolution to Mr. Edward Forsythe, Mr. John K.
Kai, Mr. Clyde Joaquin and to the Captain of the Dragon baseball team,
Mr. Al Salomon.
