Mr. O'Loughlin retired from the State of California where <br /> he worked for 32 years and held various management and supervisory positions in the <br /> areas of public works, transportation, and in school districts. <br /> Prior to retirement, Mr. O'Loughlin also coached football, rugby and weightlifting for <br /> many years. A frequent visitor to the islands, Mr. O'Loughlin settled in Waikoloa with <br /> his family nearly five years ago. As a retiree, he now wants to apply his work <br /> experience and knowledge in areas that may be beneficial to his new community. <br /> Mr. O'Loughlin holds a BS in Business Administration from Menlo College in Atherton, <br /> California. He states that he is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, he <br /> will serve a vacant term. <br /> Additionally, I respectfully request that Mr. O'Loughlin's nomination be waived past <br /> Committee hearing and be heard directly to full Council as the Transportation <br /> Commission has not been able to conduct business for several months for lack of <br /> quorum.
