RESOLUTION CREATING THREE (3) NEW TEMPORARY POSITIONS
FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii was awarded funding from the Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide long-term case management
services to the survivors of the recent Kilauea eruptions by implementing FEMA's
Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP); and
WHEREAS, the creation of three (3) new, temporary positions are needed to
implement the DCMP; and
WHEREAS, the three (3) positions indicated above are Program Manager
(Temp), Accountant II (Temp) and Clerk III (Temp); and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawai`i County Charter states that
the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which appropriations have been
made by the council..."; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that one
(1) Program Manager (Temp), one (1) Accountant II (Temp) and one (1) Clerk III
(Temp) position be created in the Hawaii County Planning Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED funds are available through FEMA's DCMP Grant
to implement their program.

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to the
Office of the Mayor and the Departments of Finance, Human Resources, and Planning.
