Resolution No.- 414
NAMING OF STREETS IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, STATE OF HAWAII .
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its regular meeting of
May 8 , 1975 , approved the following names for certain unnamed
roadways in the County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii :
White Sands Beach Estates, Unit 1, Laaloa 1st and 2nd and
Kapalaalaea 1st, North Kona, Hawaii
Queen Kalama Avenue - meaning wife of Kamehameha III
La 'aloa - meaning variety of taro
Princess Keelikolani
Drive - meaning granddaughter of Kamehameha
Akai Street - meaning by the sea
Kahananui Place - meaning the great task
Kaipo' i Place - meaning breaking waves or surf
Kai 'upoho Place - meaning breaking sea, white caps
Kanewa Place - meaning the warclub, cudgel
Nahale Place - meaning the houses
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the said roadways located in the County of Hawaii,
State of Hawaii, be named as follows:
White Sands Beach Estates, Unit 1, Laaloa 1st and 2nd and
Kapalaalaea 1st, North Kona, Hawaii (delineated on map
attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof)
Queen Kalama Avenue - meaning wife of Kamehameha III
La 'aloa - meaning variety of taro
Princess Keelikolani
Drive - meaning granddaughter of Kamehameha
Akai Street - meaning by the sea
Kahananui Place - meaning the great task
