Resolution No. 415
NAMING OF STREETS IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII , STATE OF HAWAII .
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission at its regular meeting of
May 8 , 1975 , approved the following names for certain unnamed
roadways in the County of Hawaii , State of Hawaii :
Kona Acres Subdivision, Units 1-A and 2-A, Kalaoa 5th
and Ooma 1st, North Kona, Hawaii
Ahiahi Street - meaning evening
Hi 'olani Street - meaning to sleep, lie at ease,
lounge
Holoholo Street - meaning to go , run, sail, ride
' Ilau Street - meaning to do together
Ihumoe Street - meaning name of a star
Kukuna Street - meaning ray, as of the sun;
radius of a circle
Nehiwa Street - meaning play language, with
order of syllables of most words
reversed
Oneone Street - meaning sandy, gritty, grainy
Punawele Street - meaning fine, as a spiders web
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the said roadways located in the County of Hawaii ,
State of Hawaii, be named as follows :
Kona Acres Subdivision, Units 1-A and 2-A, Kalaoa 5th
and Ooma 1st, North Kona, Hawaii (delineated on map
attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof)
Ahiahi Street - meaning evening
Hi'olani Street - meaning to sleep, lie at ease,
lounge
Holoholo Street - meaning to go , run, sail, ride
' Ilau Street - meaning to do together
Ihumoe Street - meaning name of a star
