RESOLUTION NO. 4-` ' ;.
WHEREAS , the Distinguished Service Awards for Outstanding
Performance of Duty are presented annually to a member of the Fire
and Police Departments of the various Counties in the State of
Hawaii by the Board of Underwriters of Hawaii and the General
Insurance Associations of Maui, Kauai and Hawaii ; and
WHEREAS , Captain John H. Ide of the Hawaii County Fire Department
was selectedas one of the 1975 recipients of this much coveted award
for Hawaii County; and
WHEREAS, the selection of Captain Ide was due in part to the
manner in which he molded the Fire Rescue Company at the Waiakea
Station into a coordinated, effective unit of the Hawaii Fire Depart-
ment with men of little or no experience; and
WHEREAS, his ability to plan, organize and resolve problems and
the exceptional relationship he has maintained with departmental
personnel and the public makes Captain Ide a truly outstanding Fireman
deserving of the Distinguished Service Award for 1975.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that it takes this means to extend its sincerest congratu-
lations to Captain John H. Ide of the Hawaii County Fire Department
for being named a recipient of the 1975 Distinguished Service Award
for Outstanding Performance of Duty.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereby directed to transmit a true copy of this Resolution
to Captain Ide.
