Aloha,
We live in Mountain View and love our home and our neighbors. There is a lot of aloha spirit
in our community, but it has been truly scary lately for us and all of the Puna area. Day after
day I see may instances of robberies and drug use posted in our neighborhood and surrounding
neighborhoods. Our neighborhood,we have been trying to protect our own through the
neighborhood watch and reporting suspicious activities and crimes. We know that the current
police officers are overwhelmed with the increase of crime and we want to help them get more
people to help with this growing problem. They have been very helpful, but we know they are
stretched to their limits! We don't want to live in fear for our property and our lives. It seems
crimes are growing in number and escalating also in severity. Criminals are more brazen now
because they know the police are short handed and probably can't get there in time. I don't
want to see things escalate into violence where we lose a loved one, police included in that
sentiment. Please help us preserve the wonderful spirit here! Mahalo
