Aloha,my name is Jason Wagenblast and I am a long time resident of the lower Puna cortmmunity. In having spoken
with many of our neighbors,it becomes clear that the support for these improvements and the beautification this
resolution creates is overwhelming. So,why are these voices not screaming at the top of their lungs in support?
Simple! We expect that our leaders will use their own deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills,in addition to
old fashioned common sense in order to reach the proper conclusion for the benefit of our community as a whole.
I will refrain from wasting your time regurgitating the facts regarding these murals and said resolution,for which
you are fully aware,as are many others that value this community and call it home. The non-screamers!
I implore those who have the ability to make the final decisions regarding community improvements such as this
resolution,to make the right decision. In such a diverse community,you can never please 100%of the constituents,
100%of the time. If we continue to cave on progress every time the negative minority yells a little louder on an
issue,than we don't honor what is best for the community as a whole and we all loose. It certainly ignores the
expectations of improvements by the majority of the constituents.
I trust that those with the power to properly represent the MAJORITY of this beautiful community and take into
account that some of us don't kick and scream about every issue. You are in a position where many count on you to
make the right decisions in what is best for all of us. Quite simply,we trust you to do what's right!
Besides,one has to wonder,given recent past events,if this isn't just part of a larger,continued PR smear campaign,
instigated by a bitter,old former councilwoman that had her ass handed to her in the past election due to her own
shortcomings as an elected official. Possibly a poor attempt to create hope of a re-election instead of working with
current officials for the betterment of the community. Evidence is blatant if we just look a little deeper. Yep,had to
throw that in!
Please make sure your decision is the right decision. We need strong leaders that are capable of making the hard
decisions and aren't inadvertently being duped or treated as a puppet by lesser minds,confusing key community
issues with self serving political ambition. We need positive,forward progress. We are all tired of puppets.
Puppets have no backbone and fold too easily. Let's pull our own strings for once.
I put my trust in your more than capable hands in knowing that you value the creation of more beauty in our home,
your home;where your children go to school and where they frequent with their friends. We all trust you to do
what's best! We have faith!
Community will always build stronger when faith is our decision makers is restored and we feel that our community
values are properly represented!
Please don't let us ALL down!
