RESOLUTION NO. 1.04 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HOLUALOA
FOUNDATION FOR ARTS & CULTURE TO SUPPORT ITS EXHIBITION
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Holualoa Foundation for Arts & Culture is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that provides art education for people of all ages and abilities at its facility, Donkey
Mill Art Center (DMAC), in Holualoa; and
WHEREAS,the Holualoa Foundation for Arts & Culture has an Exhibition Program at
DMAC that is free of charge and ensures that local families, keiki, student groups, community
organizations, and visitors have multiple channels through which to engage with art and each
other; and
WHEREAS,the Holualoa Foundation for Arts & Culture is requesting financial
assistance for its Exhibition Program for expenses that include advertising, curation fees, and

printing; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports efforts to increase
the economic contribution of the visitor industry to Hawai`i Island,promote quality experiences
for visitors, and promote a high quality of life for Hawai`i Island residents; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of
Research and Development to provide a grant to the Holualoa Foundation for Arts & Culture for
its Exhibition Program at the Donkey Mill Art Center.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
