• <br /> •t• J� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> •+f• ...........H' <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 105 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEALAKEHE HIGH <br /> SCHOOL GRAD FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 2019 KEALAKEHE PROJECT <br /> GRAD EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, Kealakehe High School Grad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> comprised of parent, student, and community volunteers who work toward providing a safe <br /> location for the graduates of Kealakehe High School to celebrate with their friends and enjoy an <br /> all-night alcohol-tobacco-and drug-free event; and <br /> WHEREAS,the goal of Kealakehe High School Grad is to provide healthy and fun <br /> activities that will ensure the safety and well-being of the graduating class of Kealakehe High <br /> School; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2019 Kealakehe Project Grad event will take place on Saturday, June 1, <br /> 2019 from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium,the Kona Community Aquatic <br /> Center, and the KBXtreme Family Entertainment Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, Kealakehe High School Grad is requesting funds to help pay for meals, and <br /> various combinations of entertainment such as live band or DJ, dancing,bowling, swimming, <br /> gym activities,rock wall climbing, karaoke, arcade games, and other activities determined by the <br /> graduating class; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Kealakehe High School Grad to assist with expenses <br /> relating to its 2019 Kealakehe Project Grad event. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
