JMZY Oi H,' , tP•Li COUNTY OF HAWAII •• '•• STATE OF HAWAII ire os•Nrr► RESOLUTION NO. 1111. :.9 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO BASIC IMAGE, INC., FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE "UNKO BOOGIE'S" POHO`IKI BAY SURFING CLASSIC. WHEREAS, Basic Image, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that fosters kuleana and nurtures aloha by way of malama`aina, including caring for Isaac Kepo`okalni Hale Beach Park through the County of Hawaii Friend of the Park Program since 2006; and WHEREAS, Basic Image, Inc., partnered with the Kalama `Ohana, to host the annual "Unko Boogie's" Poho`iki Surfing Bay Classic, for its ninth year at Isaac Kepo`okalni Hale Beach Park on March 16tH, 17tH, and 18th; and WHEREAS, "Unko Boogie's" Poho`iki Surfing Bay Classic was a free event open to the public that focused on surfing, fishing, makahiki games, and cultural art teachings; and WHEREAS, Basic Image, Inc., is requesting funds as a reimbursement for expenses included but not limited to potable water and stage rental for the "Unko Boogie's" Poho`iki Surfing Bay Classic; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support alcohol - free and drug-free community events; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Basic Image, Inc., as a reimbursement for expenses incurred at the "Unko Boogie's" Poho`iki Surfing Bay Classic. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
