JMtY oc ,1 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII •_ STATE OF HAWAII <br />7TE O.F•H,. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1i3 19 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO SELF DISCOVERY <br />THROUGH ART FOR ITS "RECOVERY, RESILIENCE, RECREATION MODEL OF <br />WELLNESS" PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br />utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, a trauma -informed approach, and "arts as medicine" to <br />assist community members with resiliency skills and recovery; and <br />WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art has a program, "Recovery, Resilience, <br />ReCreation Model of Wellness," that is a free, 10 -week series of workshops that assist <br />community members with issues such as depression, trauma, and chronic pain; and <br />WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art provides participants with all materials, art <br />supplies, and therapeutic support necessary for a successful recovery; and <br />WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art has already conducted two workshop series <br />dedicated to helping residents impacted by the 2018 Kilauea eruption to process their <br />experiences through group sharing and art activities; and <br />WHEREAS, Self Discovery Through Art is requesting funds to purchase art supplies <br />and materials for its "Recovery, Resilience, ReCreation Model of Wellness" program; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free and alcohol -free <br />programs that promote a healthy community; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to Self Discovery Through Art for its "Recovery, Resilience, <br />ReCreation Model of Wellness" program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
