:--?-117 <br /> Y OFN� <br /> (-- <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII I+4 N'- /l• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 122 19 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br /> ISLAND CULTURAL AWARENESS PROJECT TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br /> RELATING TO THE 26th ANNUAL KWXX HO`OLAULE`A. <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Island Cultural Awareness Project(HICAP) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization that promotes charitable and educational events to create awareness <br /> through cultural media to serve the people and visitors of Hawai`i; and <br /> WHEREAS, KWXX FM is a radio station that is hosting its 26th Annual KWXX <br /> Ho`olaule`a on September 28, 2019 in downtown Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, HICAP is working with KWXX FM to increase awareness of the culture <br /> and history of Hawai`i Island by presenting the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a, a free block party <br /> featuring live contemporary and traditional music and hula in downtown Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS,the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a is a drug-free and alcohol-free family- <br /> friendly event with numerous stages and entertainers positioned around downtown Hilo that <br /> attracts residents from around the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, HICAP is requesting funds for security, medical supplies, sanitation, clean- <br /> up expenses, and traffic safety signage; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide <br /> compliance to liquor laws at drug-free and alcohol-free events; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> 1 Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Island Cultural Awareness Project to cover <br /> operational expenses for the 26th Annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
