Resolution
WHEREAS , there is presently in the development stage a technique
by which artificial shoals and reefs can be constructed which would be
conducive to water sports ; and
WHEREAS , Look Laboratory and its Director, J . T. O' Brien, have
expressed an interest in working on such a project for Hilo Bay; and
WHEREAS , the County of Hawaii recognizes the value of such a project
but is without funds to undertake financing of such project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that it supports the concept of the development of an artificial
reef in Hilo Bay which would be conducive to water sports .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council respectfully urges Look
Laboratory to seek funds with which to finance •such a project .
