WHEREAS, 1975 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Hilo Jaycees spon-
sorship of the Hawaii County Fair; and
WHEREAS, each year the Hilo Jaycees have done an outstanding job
of combining entertainment, fun and education into a truly worthwhile
experience for residents and visitors alike; and
WHEREAS, this tremendous project by the young men of the HILO
JAYCEES mandated astute planning and hard physical work in preparation
for this community service project; and
WHEREAS, the profits from this endeavor will return to the community
via the Hilo Jaycees sponsorship of additional civic/community-oriented
projects; and
WHEREAS, long hours of work were expended by the HILO JAYCEES taking
them away from their families and loved ones , reflecting the Jaycee creed
that service to humanity is the best work of life; and
WHEREAS , recognition is also deserved for the twenty-six indivi-
duals who have chaired the Hawaii County Fair over the years , including

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF
HAWAII that on this the Silver Anniversary of the Hawaii County Fair,
it warmly extends its sincere best wishes and its heartiest congratu-
lations and appreciation to the Hilo Jaycees and the Hilo Jaycees
Auxiliary who inspired and permitted their men to commit their time
and labor to such a worthy undertaking.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is hereby
directed to transmit true copies of this resolution to Mr. Charles
McNicoll, Chairman of the 25th Annual Hawaii County Fair, and to
Mrs . Thelma Clark, President of the Hilo Jaycees Auxiliary.
