RESOLUTION NO.
WHEREAS, the 1975 State Punt, Pass and Kick Competition,
co-sponsored by the Ford. Motor Companies and the Departments of
Parks and Recreation, was held on October 11, 1975, at the Iolani
School Field in Honolulu; and
WHEREAS, from the Island of Hawaii, six competitors in
various age categories were sponsored by the Orchid Island Auto
Center; and
WHEREAS, ROBIN GOMES, son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Gomes of
Pahala, captured the 8 year old division; and
WHEREAS, ROBIN GOMES winning total comprised of a 48. 5 foot
punt, a 59. 5 foot pass and a 32. 5 foot kick for a grand total of
140. 5 feet; and
WHEREAS, ROBIN GOMES will now travel to San Diego, California
to compete in the Western Area quarter-finals; and
WHEREAS, should ROBIN COMES survive the competition in the
quarter-finals and semi-finals, he will have an opportunity to
participate in the National Finals on January 18 , 1976, at the
Super Bowl X,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII, that it takes this means to congratulate ROBIN GOMES
for his outstanding performance in capturing the 1975 State Punt,
Pass, and Nick Competition in the 8 year old division and continued
success in the Western Area competition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii
be and is hereiiy directed to transmit true copies to ROBIN COMES
and Mr. & Mrs. Robert Gomes.
